How many of those 'work at home' ads in the newspaper are actually genuine?

HI there are plenty of legit business, but i have NEVER believed that you can join a company and make $2000 just like that. I have been scamed and taken for a ride. It also depends weather you want to work for someone at home as a JOB or if you want to build a business of your own. If it is business a building then there will be cost, weather it is stock to sell, or advertising, or other expences that come with a business. I am now building up my business on line and although i did pay a start up cost, it has now paid for its self, you just need to know where to look. But as for paying for a JOB, then thats just a scam.
