Is it true that Indians pray everyday to God because from inner hearts they know that they are corrupt?

It implies to all religions. India has probably the most temples in the world, and they pray a lot. At the same time india is one of the most corrupt country in the world. People are selfish. Is that mean if you pray to god everyday and do sins, yor all sins are gone. I have seen mine relatives too , who are corrupt , but do prayers everyday. Isn't the best prayer is kindness towards , your family and humanity? Even arab countries prayes five times, and most killings are done by them. I don't want to start religion fight, but the bottom line is more prayers equal to more crimes, killing and dishonesty. Honest answers only
