Really like my guy friend a lot?

First off, those are very vague reasons for him liking you. I'm not saying he doesn't though, he may. And honestly, if you're such good friends, it shouldn't be a big deal asking for his number. I mean if he likes you, it'll excite him and if he doesn't, he'll probably just think you're asking him for his number friend to friend. If you're not close enough to him that asking for his number wouldn't be really weird, I'm not sure how you can like him. Basically, just act normal around him and look for more obvious things that would imply that he likes you. And get that number girl! :)
