Why do I look different in the mirror than in pictures?

I have the same issue. I look daaaaaam in my mirror but pictures distort my face. My smile is crooked, my eyes aren't on the same level it looks ghoulish even. I think the mirror reflects reality more than pictures. If pictures make you look weird I feel your pain :)
