Pokemon leaf green help plz!!?

you have to defeat team rocket in the really tall building in the middle of the city, there you'll face team rocket, your rival, and team rocket's boss. the S.S. ann doesn't take you to an island. but theres a boat that takes you to islands after you get the badge from Blaine in the 7th gym. and you open the gym in viridian after you get all 7 badges, it opens automatically.
