There is no CC or CAPT on on either my tv remote or my cable remote how do i turn subtitles off?

Is in your menu system. It will quite likely be called CC or Captions or Closed Captioning. Just track that down using your manual, or just firing up the menu and searching around. You should be able to toggle it on/off from there. Also check out Audio menus, it sometimes creeps up in there with some brands.
