Why is Barney Frank still Chairman of the Banking Committee?

How can someone do such a poor job and still keep their job. He got completely exposed in the Freddie/Fannie meltdown. He tried to backtrack from his stance on Freddie/Fannie by blaming the Republicans - but nobody buys it.. Why is this guy still have this kind of power? It is disgusting. I live in MA - I work in his district. I want to stop people at lunch and ask them why they keep electing this turd. I do not get it..
